Services / Price List
(Please note that this is just a rough guide; prices are estimates and may vary depending on instrument condition. A full quote will be given before work begins.)
The Basics
-
Clean and Restring - £15
Includes string fitting, fretboard cleaning/conditioning and tuning.
Standard additional £10 charge for 12-strings, Classical Guitars, and electrics with a Floyd Rose-style bridge.
Cost of strings not included.
-
Standard Setup - £50
Includes truss rod adjustment, action & intonation setup, nut/saddle height check, fretboard cleaning & condition, flushng of pots and switches with contact cleaner and fresh strings.
Standard additional £10 charge for 12-strings and guitars with a Foyd Rose-style bridge.
Cost of strings not included.
-
Fret Dress/Reprofile - £130
Smoothing out then reshaping frets that have become worn and uneven, eliminating buzzing, improving playability and giving a new lease of life to an older instrument.
-
Full Refret - From £250
Complete fret replacement with high-quality fretwire, includes setup.
Additional work may be required on guitars with binding or finished maple fretboards. A full refret in Stainless Steel is a substantially longer job that causes significant wear to tools, and as such carries an additional £150 to the base cost.
-
Defret - From £150
Conversion of a fretted instrument into a fretless.
My standard method involves fitting veneer strips to form fretlines and a cyanoacrylate (superglue) coating to protect the board. In my experience this is both the most effective and cheapest method, but I’m happy to discuss the various alternative finish methods on request.
-
Electronics Work - From £30
Anything from a dead output or scratchy pots through to basic pickup swaps and minor modifications like killswitches.
Cost of any additional or replacement components not included
Structural Repairs / Modifications
For major damage such as a headstock break, or more extensive modifications like routing a body for new pickups, every guitar comes with different challenges that make a list price very arbitrary.
If your instrument needs something beyond just the basics, please contact me via email with a description of the work you need done, and if possible pictures of the instrument in question. I’ll be happy to evaluate the damage/scale of the modification, and come up with a personalised quote.
